Expat oldtimer?

One for IsarSteve methinks: what looks to me like a very un-red, but distinctly London-style bus. (Or at least one from some left-hand drive country). No idea what it's doing in Berlin; possibly following the latest emigration trends. (Presumably the streets of London are now dominated by Polish buses).

But I'm afraid to tell you that this 1958 Leyland is not and never was a London Bus.
I'm not sure were it originated...
I wanted to get a shot of it too, but my Camera is not working at the moment.. :o(
I don't know about Polish buses dominating London, but the streets of Berlin are teeming with Polish built buses!! As all the "Solari type" buses now in service in Berlin were constructed in Poland.

this bus, a Leyland Titan PD3/6, is former Southend Corporation 311 (PHJ 950) and was converted to a open top bus in 1971. Since then it ran as a sightseeing bus at Southend, from 1980 it was in London at Harmony Inn's Pub, in 1990 it arrived in Potsdam/Germany where it was in service for only one season. Up to 1999 the bus was in service at Hamburg, from 2000 to 2006 it was out of service. From 2006 we rebuilt the bus and gave it new Guide Friday livery, because our company has it's origin there. Since May 2007 the bus is in service again and runs very fine without any problems.
The only Polish buses in London are the new Scania Omnidekka double deckers, the Mercedes Citaro artics were built in Germany and all other buses in the UK.
